How the Pulse Score is built

Every component is normalised to 0–1 and combined as a weighted mean. When a component has no underlying data it is dropped and the remaining weights are renormalised — never imputed, never zero-filled. That is why some cells read “—”.

  • News sentiment (30%) — mean sentiment of the headlines linked to the asset in the last 24h.
  • Mention volume (30%) — 24h mentions against the asset’s own 7-day daily baseline, saturating at 4×.
  • Mention momentum (15%) — last 24h versus the 24h before.
  • Price momentum (15%) — 24h change, clipped to ±15%.
  • Turnover (10%) — 24h volume over market cap, log-scaled.

The three social components are shrunk toward neutral on a thin sample — one headline is one headline, never “4× baseline buzz”. And an asset our headline pipeline has not touched in seven days gets no Pulse Score at all: it shows “—” and sorts last, rather than a flattering number derived from a price pump alone.

A headline counts as a mention only when it names eight assets or fewer, or when the asset is a constituent of the event-card basket built from that headline.
